The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in Sumatera Selatan, August 2024 was 1.80 percent

Abstract

In August 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in South Sumatra Province was 1.80 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.91. The highest inflation occurred in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency at 1.95 percent with a CPI of 107.15 and the lowest occurred in Lubuk Linggau City at 1.31 percent with a CPI of 104.65.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 1.72 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 2.17 percent; health group by 1.65 percent; transportation group by 2.02 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 2.00 percent; education group by 1.78 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.56 percent; and personal care and other services group by 7.29 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: clothing and footwear group by 1.18 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.78 percent and information, communication and financial services group by 0.26 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate of South Sumatra Province in August 2024 was 0.19 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 0.16 percent.
